Pop star Cody Simpson has gone from long shot to represent Australia in the pool to making his second squad for the green and gold after achieving stunning success at the Commonwealth Games despite his love triangle drama.
The 25-year-old has just been named alongside girlfriend Emma McKeon to represent his country in the star-studded Duel in the Pool exhibition races against the best talent America has to offer.
To be held for the first time in 15 years in this month, the Duel will see the countries send their top swimmers to compete at the city's Olympic aquatic centre and race in open-water events at Bondi Beach.

The call-up comes after Simpson scored a gold medal in the men's 4x100m freestyle, a silver in the 4x100m medley relay and a personal best in his pet 100m butterfly event at the Commonwealth Games.
